• Last year around this time, Thomas Deneuville, Victoria Cheah, Jeremiah Bornfield, and I played Monkey Town. When brainstorming a title for that event, I couldn't get more creative than Four Acts at Monkey Town.

Earlier this year, I got the idea of perhaps turning this into a yearly thing, like the Bang on a Can festival. So, I started talking to Thomas about it, and he got the brilliant idea of getting Hunter College's Black Box Theatre. He figured it made sense to call it Four Acts at Black Box Theatre this year. Then he got a better idea: do a Web site and put out a call for applications so we can do it perhaps twice a year.

We do our 4 Acts @ series on 26 September 2009.
